About Pexarenti
Pexarenti is an independent educational website about how doctors are trained.
What we do
Pexarenti publishes plain-language guides about medicine: how it is learned, how medical education is changing, how long training takes, how medical journals and professional bodies work, and how common medicines are used and judged. Our readers are school and university students, people thinking about a career change, parents, and anyone curious about how doctors are made.
Editorial policy
- Original work. Every guide is written for Pexarenti. We do not copy text from other sites.
- Official sources. We draw on regulators, examining bodies and professional associations, and list them at the end of each guide.
- Clear limits. Where a figure is typical and may vary, we say so.
- Updates. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We revise guides when rules or facts change.
- Health topics. Guides about medicines describe general principles and published guidance. They never tell an individual reader what to take. Where a guide has been checked by a doctor or pharmacist, the reviewer is named at the top.
- Corrections. If you find an error, tell us through the contact page and we will check it and fix it.
What we do not do
Pexarenti does not diagnose or treat any health condition, and our guides about medicines give general information only. They are not a substitute for advice from your own doctor or pharmacist. We do not sell courses or admission services. We are not affiliated with any medical school, examining body or journal mentioned on this site, including the journal Perspectives on Medical Education.
How the site is funded
Pexarenti is free to read. The site may show advertising, which is always kept separate from our guides. Advertisers have no say in what we write. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work.
